Rather last minute I booked a hotel in Chelsea for the night before the flower show. I think I was very lucky there was a room & a decent deal still left on a booking website and it made all the difference as we could get there early. We also got to see the floral displays that the restaurants and posh shops put up for the week of the flower show and we had a really excellent dinner with Adam and Charlotte at ‘Rabbit’ restaurant (a mint gimlet may also have involved’). They do sharing plates so you have to be confident that your dinner companions are healthy!
An added bonus of wandering around Sloane Square is people watching especially the little cherubs coming home from school in their super-posh uniforms (velvet collars essential) - there was also a very organised system for the chauffeurs and nannies to pull in for pick up by car…
Weather: warm sunny afternoon
Covid: pretty much totally ignored in London
Good thing: Adam & Charlotte both doing well with their creative endeavours.
Lovely Judith, the people watching sounds excellent! Just my cup of tea & a lucky booking for a little break. I have enjoyed the Chelsea Flower Show at this time if the year….lucky with the weather as wouldn’t have been as nice if a cold spell had hit. Beautiful flowers.
