I've always loved a button tin. I used to spend hours sorting out my mum's. This one is inherited from my lovely old neighbour - an old small Quality Street tin from the days when sweet treats came in modest portions. Both the buttons and the smiley are reminders of those we have loved and lost.
I may disappear from loading for a couple of days if I manage to get both old and new computers to the shop so they can sort out my e-mail etc - I hope to be able to keep commenting on various other gadgets.
Oh I love a button box too! I've got one of my own and my mum has hers with her mum's.....such simple treasures. Does this fit a January treasures theme somewhere?
My mum always had a button tin, and I loved looking through it and playing. We were looking at buttons in Hobbycraft yesterday - lots of novelty ones. Love that smile!
You are early today Judith !! Lovely buttons & I love the feel of them as you rout about finding the right one !! These days people will probably throw out rather than sew a new button on !!!! That yellow button with the smiley face grabs your eye straight away !!
My grandmother's button tin was always so much fun to sort through. It was a little bit of history of all of the clothing she and her kids wore. It was fun to go through. Great shot.
ace buttons.. i remember spending times sifting through the button tin.. all those different buttons are fasinating.
love it. ..and best of luck with your computing shenanigans.
great shot - for some reason I was thinking of buttons today - don't knwo why as i don't have any I don't think!! Love the pop of yellow - reminds me of college "aciiiid"...!
Love this! I inherited my husband's grandmother's jars of buttons, added to by my mother-in-law and me. My daughters always know where to go to find an unusual button - the tradition will continue.
I love a button tin as well. I had mine out when my grandchildren were here for Christmas. My 5 year old granddaughter loves sorting through them. Great clarity in this shot, Judith.
love it. ..and best of luck with your computing shenanigans.
Lovely composition :)
