I really don't like today's photo so I'm going with an extra from a couple of weeks ago as well. I was quite taken with the new models in the window of Ede and Ravenscroft but the wooden hands are spookily real. Luckily there are no heads involved. This is where you go to get your gown when you're summoned to the House of Lords or whatever. You can see the tailoring through the grilles in the pavement and they were making a lovely red and ermine confection when I took this photo. The bright colour caught Monty's eye and he stared down the grille on red alert - leaping backwards, barking and apparently terrified when the man reappeared at his work desk. It's good to know I'm in brave hands when I go out walking.
Founded in 1689! British tradition at its finest. I had to look them up. It seems surreal they have a website but it's great to know that, in some ways, they keep up with the times :)) Oh, great Monty story, too. http://www.edeandravenscroft.co.uk/ceremonial-dress/peers-robes/
