Cows in the cow parsley by judithg

Cows in the cow parsley

It took me until the end of November last year to get a 'Cows at Kings' shot and the meadow looked a lot less lush at that point. That's because the cows were always in the wrong place. They were miles away on Wednesday when I went in search but these youngsters were very curious about Monty and came and posed nicely for me. It's not often that the presence of Monty is helpful! Mair (@mejbronant) told me last year that these beasts are a very old breed called Park White. They had a gorgeous calf there last year as well. I should point out that there is the little rivulet that the swan was on in Wednesday's shot and an electric fence (cloned out) between them and me (and, more importantly, stopping them reaching a busy road). Apologies for inefficient commenting at the moment - I've got a bad back brought on by the bad shoulder (honestly - listen to me - an old wreck!) and so I've been limiting computer time a bit. Apologies and huge thanks for the lovely comments and favs on the choirboy shots. I posted them on FB and one of my old school friends got back and said that her next door neighbour's grandson was in the group shot. It's a small world and I've offered her the photo so I hope she doesn't mind. I don't generally post identifiable children but the choirboys are all over the internet anyway.
wonderful Kings shot, looks very painterly!! +fav

Quite a contrast in this photo! Don't see many stately buildings like those behind the cows where I live!

Well if there were going to be cows at Kings they would have to be Park Whites. I know little about this breed except that Adams farm on Countryfile has this old breed but with their long horns they look perfect there . Magnificent church roof with all those turrets.
So sorry your back is giving you trouble it will be the way you are standing because of your shoulder, I expect you are only happy lying down !!!
May 18th, 2012
@happypat Actually lying down is really painful Pat! But only shoulder and arm not back... Still I'm off to see a very good shoulder man on Monday so I'm hopeful that he'll have some good suggestions if not a miracle cure!!

@judithg Oh I do hope so Judith , you need to be well for your NY trip & it must be very wearing day after day !

A great shot, worth the wait! I missed the choir boys shot, going back to look now! I hope your back eases over the weekend and good luck for Monday :)
May 18th, 2012
@happypat Yes I'm not sure if the flight will be good because sitting up is better than lying down or terrible because if it seizes up I'm liable to yell a lot & Adam will NOT like that!!!

A stunning shot. Cambridge is such a beautiful place. Really sorry to hear about your back. I have suffered for years with mine and thought that that was going to be it for life. I was helped massively by trips to someone who did 'clinical pilates' Now I am pain free most of the time, so there is hope........

Love this shot - so unusual - and perfectly serene. Sorry to hear about your aches and pains. Funny but I have a bad shoulder too - brought on by too long on the computer, carrying a heavy camera, dog walking , or combination of all of the above I'm sure. Hope your is better soon.

@busylady That'll do it - that pretty much did mine! Make sure you rest it before it goes past the point of no return!
