Coming and Going

Grand Central Station NY. A filler I'm afraid. I just haven't got my act together since we got back. I'm still waiting for a decent night's sleep apart from anything else. Anyway Grand Central Station is cool. I think Adam thought I was a bit mad dragging him off to the railway station. Even more so when a man randomly told us to stand in the corners of a crossway in one of the passageways and talk to the wall. He got embarrassed and left as we were trying it out which is a shame because it was a top tip - you can hear each other spookily loudly if you do that!! Anyway when we walked into the big hall Adam was suitably impressed though I was a little disappointed because I thought that was where they'd had the shoot out in 'The Untouchables' and that was actually in Union Station in Chicago. Now I'll have to go to Chicago. And the little boy in Witness didn't witness his crime here either ... ho hum ... it was still worth a visit!
I am gutted that when I went to NY over 12 years ago now I didn't go to Grand Central Station - it looks awesome. Another visit is needed me things. Awesome shot - love it.

Definitely, and you have done it justice with this superb shot! I particularly like the occasional blurred figures giving the impression of hurry.

I love this shot. Looks fantastic in black and white and brilliant movement to give the feeling of hustle and bustle!

This is a very nice pic, and the shutter speed is perfect!

I like the angle you have shot this from showing those huge windows. I thought it was such an amazing building for just a railway station. Like the blurry people too.

A bit of a let down & The Witness is one of my favourite films ... Harrison Ford..mmmm!!!! I thought this was a Michael Elliot photo at first so you should be very flattered Judith ! Amazing amount of space & love those widows!

it's a beautiful scene Judith, great in monochrome and great through your 'eye'.

There is a classic / historical photo here (I think) of this scene, where a shaft of light comes through the windows and looks like a spotlight on the travellers

I'm really envious (I know I shouldn't be), but I'd just love to photograph NY and visit a show on Broadway

A Fave for me

@happypat The Holy Grail Pat!! @phil_howcroft We went to see James Corden in 'One Man, Two Guv'nors' - a brave move taking it to Broadway as it's so English - lovely little intimate theatre.

June 13th, 2012
Great shot, Judith...too bad there wasn't some sort of flash mob action going on to make you forget all about "The Untouchables" and "The Witness". :)
June 13th, 2012
Fantastic building. Love the motion in this.
It might not have been the one in The Untouchables, but it was where all the commuters started waltzing in The Fisher King.
June 13th, 2012
Fab shot. Oo ive some moments in both those stations. Not impressed that you didn't know the untouchables was set in Chicago. Actually a lot of so called new york scenes are shot in Chicago because it has the el . You will have to go there it's a fab city too.
