This tells you all you need to know about Monty - except that sometimes he takes them and sits under a park bench instead.
I thought I'd been all clever yesterday getting a nice wet shot for today and getting ahead of the game - and then out came the sun so I can't use that!! Rachel came with me on the dog walk so I wasn't allowed to mess about with photos - hence you get the dog...
3 good things:
1. Summer's back!
2. While Adam's away I'm making food that he doesn't like - fish pie tonight.
3. Thanks for the fab response to yesterday's photo :0)))
@busylady It's his party piece - self taught and never happier than doing this. He's hoping I will try and take it off him so he can move his head around and not let me!
I'm catching up with your photos from when I was on my hols judith ....this just has to be a fave......Monty 'two hoops' Greenwood looks lovely.....are his hoops always yellow....btw Ruby has taken to walking everywhere with a 'plastic toy washing line' in her mouth when out in public !!!
@phil_howcroft Yes always yellow. I have tried a different heavier rubber sort - same size and colour and he will chase them unenthusiastically. I've also tried small blue "Kong" ones with a good throwing device but he's not very interested and can't get two on his nose which causes trauma. It's a cause of stress as the number of suppliers seems to be dwindling but I just bought another 3 on t'internet - these are news ones - same texture as the old but a different name - he's VERY happy with these. Did you see the thread about Harvey - he's a hoop dog. Toy washing line? Well a whippet may want to do laundry.....
@phil_howcroft Forgot to say - I think the yellow is very visible to dogs with their poor colour vision and the soft chewy texture is fairly mouth kind though he does draw blood from gums quite often. He will eventually chew a hole in them so they are taken away when not playing - a collie once got hold of one and demolished it before our eyes in seconds!!
@judithg Judith i've not seen the Harvey thread ! It's funny how certain toys are attracted to dogs. Ruby was wary of full size footballs , but I put two old ones on the lawn / grass (actually never used ones...real ones ..that i've collected as freebies) ...all of a sudden she realized they were great to play with and has demolished one in half in less than a week ! Tonights evening walk was interesting as she was eager to be unleashed and join in Arnold Town Junior FC football practice on the local park !!! The toy washing line is a dog toy......£1-00 from errrr Poundland !!!
