In the 'old' King's Cross the Cambridge trains always went from Platform 9 in 'the annexe' which was really inconvenient to get to. Now that it has had its lovely revamp and the taxis drop you very conveniently for Platform 9 they always seem to go from Platform 0. Still you get to see the nice clock which may appear again soon. Here Nigel and Rachel are heading for the 11.15pm train after a fantastic evening at Twelfth Night. The newly assigned seats were brilliant - it's a really small theatre so we could see every eyebrow raised. For half an hour before the start all the actors were on stage half dressed, doing their makeup and hair and finally getting dressed. I took a few sneaky iPhone shots but the exposure was a disaster. I didn't take my proper camera as I knew the theatre wouldn't allow me to use it and with books and glasses cases and everybody else's clutter I would have needed a magic handbag.
Three good things:
1. London looking very pretty with the Christmas lights on.
2. Adam only once asking me, 'Is he a woman?' It was an all male cast but even with two young men wearing identical costumes/wigs you just knew that one was a 'girl' and one was a boy.
3. Mark Rylance is genius as Olivia - hilarious. On alternate nights he plays Richard III also (apparently) brilliantly - no idea how he remembers the lines and switches between a slightly bonkers but sweet Countess to a completely crazy serial killer.
Like the little arrow under Zero. A vector to nothingness

@peterdegraaff I'm pretty sure that '0' platform was always there - and even if it wasn't it would be pretty easy to make it actually 'exist'!

I am enjoying this look at the station! I know is cold but the lights transform it! Great to hear about the play!

@judithg ah yes , there is some value in the premises of ontological argument and the positing of that which can exist in the minor premise.

Glad you enjoyed Twelfth Night. This is a very atmospheric railway station shot, that late night last train feeling.

Loving that clock! Seems awfully quiet for a train station... nicely composed!

Love the sign!

@peterdegraaff I think 'a vector to nothingness' maybe be both my fav comment of the year & also would make a fantastic album title. :)

Looks bright and inviting. Like the lighting. Too bad you have to go for man made light at the moment!

Love this...very 'Potter-ish'. So glad all the family had a good time at the "Twelfth Night" performance! And I would bet that London looks magical all decked out for Christmas.

I am so glad that you had a wonderful time @ Twelfth Night. I really like this shot, the train station looks much less crowded than I would have thought it would be. Very cool shot!
