Very uninspiring day for photos - could no doubt get something very bleak out in the countryside but I've got an appointment with a fire and a good book. So I got Nigel to fire off a few hoops for Monty to chase. I didn't really get what I want (focus on face for starters!) and straightening this clipped the tail which is really annoying me BUT my friend's little dog who has been missing for a month has been found! She was curled up under a tree in a garden about half a mile from where she was last seen. Very thin, very cold, in need of medication, a few scratches but still alive. A very happy neighbourhood as a result :0)
Three good things:
1. Found dog
2. Happy families
3. The power of social media

Amazing action shot Judith - those speeding legs are incredible!! I am so relieved to hear the missing dog has been found and is ok, poor little thing - and in this weather too, such a relief for its owners.
How marvellous she was still alive.amazing resilience animals have! What a happy story......love your shot looks as if his back and front legs are joined he's bounding so fast!! Passed loads of very happy dogs on my little walk today
I'm so glad the missing dog turned up. Monty looks like he's enjoying himself. I also have appointment with the fire and a good book, but I had to help cut the wood first!
ahh this is lovely. Good news about the missing dog.. Sounds like a lovely afternoon I might do something similar..although i have promised to cook a roast.
@fueast Small black Patterdale - more inclined to hunt than go up to strangers. Everybody has been looking out for her but I suppose she was scared and managed to hide/hunt. Moral is to get a large white dog ... just relieved she didn't fall in the swollen river - she was heading towards it when last seen - in driving rain. I think she'd decided to go home, got spooked at the road junctions and lost her bearings. Bet she sleeps well tonight.
A racing dog & such a speed he is going at, pure concentration on his face! Love the softness of his white fur & amazing that his ears are still in the right place!!! Go for it Monty!!! What is the good book Judith?
@happypat Yes I must have caught his ears in the 'down position'! It's a book (on my Kindle) by David Hosp about his Boston Lawyer/crime solver. I'm only just starting so I don't know how good but it's better than being outside today!
Oh poor little dog out in this weather but how great she has been found! I love this shot of Monty - he almost looks to me as if he's walking (sorry, running) on water! The snowy landscape shows off his lovely markings and colours beautifully.
So glad your friends dog was found, but sad that it was in such bad condition, poor little guy! But this is a great shot. looks like he's moving along pretty fast!
Go Monty! I agree with Fanny, looks like his front and back legs are as one he is galloping so fast.... We've just been out for a walk and there are some very happy dogs out there this morning! Pleased to hear about your neighbours little dog, poor thing......
I think it's quite a good capture - I love how all his fur seems to be moving with him. He looks much furrier than I remember - must be his winter coat. Glad to hear the other doggie was found! And I hope you're enjoying your warm reading place right now!
What a fabulous shot of Monty racing in the snow. Excellent capture.
Must be hard focusing on Monty at that speed.
Action shot works well, like how Monty coat shows. Nice.
