Seeing red by judithg

Seeing red

I've been dying to photograph this chap for ages as he lives quite close to me but it seems too obvious in a suburban street. So today I just pretended to photograph the trees. The vibrancy of the reds seems to have completely thrown my camera sensor and they looked really weird so I've hammed them up a bit more in processing. Anyway - if any of you are wondering where 'he' goes in the off season now you know. No doubt he'll be off to The Pole again soon - if John Lewis is anything to go by he should be there already - they've got all their Christmas display up.
Three GT:
1. Interesting weather - windy, warm, wet
2. I'm off meeting my sister in London tomorrow
3. You lovely people put my swan on PP - THANKS!
Love this!!

What a great capture, always difficult to be discreet. He is superb. The trees are a wonderful sight lined up and the leaves arching over.

What the ......?What is this all about? Does he always wear red? Is he trying to look like F.C? Oh lordie lordie this is fantastic, I wanna see him!!!

Wow is this for real.

@lucypics You don't get this in your village? Not always red - sometimes he wears head to foot yellow or green. It's not easy to make a suit from scratch. Shame it's nearly made my sensor explode.

He is fantastic and so is the shot. I live in Cambridge for 6 months when I was 13 and your photos make me want to go back for a visit every day.

Its a lovely walk here under the trees and I guess if this guy wears clothes like that he will love having his photo taken!
October 4th, 2013
I don't know how he's got the nerve!
October 4th, 2013
What a character! Like the thought of you pretending to photograph trees instead of him....(I've done that at times too..!)
October 4th, 2013
He's brilliant - you'll have to go for the full set
October 4th, 2013
Cool capture! I don't think I've seen that much red clothing on one person in my lifetime ;-)

Father Christmas :D

I do see red. Great shot, Judith He is very interesting looking in the red suit. My camera has trouble with reds sometimes, too.

That is some shot. I've never seen a grown man dressed all in red except the real deal.

I'm sure the cyclists won't mow him down.

Lovely location to get the shot of FC!

Glad you captured him. My how his taste in attire accentuates his white beard! Marching to the beat of a different drummer I suppose! Awesome.

What an interesting chap. I assume he always wears red? I grew up in a college town and can say without exaggerating you see many strange and interesting people wandering the streets.

Interesting chap. I assume he is not boring and quite interesting and eccentric. Nice capture
October 5th, 2013
Bizarro indeed...
October 5th, 2013

A very colourful character and well done for plucking up the courage to take the shot.

What a fantastic guy! You must stop him one day and ask to take his picture - I'd bet he'd be only too happy to
October 5th, 2013
what a great catch - love an eccentric too - don't know why we feel it would be weird to photograph them - them wouldn't dress like that if they didn't want to be noticed!!
October 5th, 2013
A great capture of this eccentric chap. Pretending to be photographing something else seems to work pretty well. At least in Cambridge you don't feel odd with a camera in your hand!
October 5th, 2013
I love eccentrics. Oh to be completely different! What a great shot
October 5th, 2013

What a contrast! Eccentricity, at another level! Superb capture.
October 6th, 2013
How lovely he is with his great red outfit contrasting so well with the green. Good for him for daring to be different.
