Adam overslept his alarm this morning and had no recollection of me telling him to get up even though he answered me. Consequently I ended up driving him to school - he thinks I was doing him a favour but actually I needed to go food shopping and I wanted to see if there were any nice wintry shots to be had. Sadly, because we were late I only had time to jump out of the car, snap King's College with a misty River Cam in front and jump back in again. I must motivate myself to get up and out earlier when he gets the bus because the river flowing under the bridges must have been very atmospheric. Monty was in a lot of pain again this morning - I'm dosing him with codeine in a bid to get him well enough to transport to the vet. He's fast asleep in my favourite scarf at the moment - I thought he might like the warmth around his neck - it seems that he does but I'm worried about him strangling himself so I'll have to stay with him. The highest mountain in East Anglia is currently my ironing so I'll be commenting a bit later.
Three GT:
1. The piano tuner tells me the piano is worth much more than I thought - it sounded lovely when he played it!
2. The piano tuning has stopped - Monty debunked to the lounge, curled up illegally on the sofa and dribbled while it was underway and I felt like doing the same.....
3. Another fast day survived and I've done some research on why it isn't working - I need to really cut down on non-fast days - I have calculated that I need 1000 calories/day less than Adam and Nigel :0(
Well, for a quick snap, this is beautiful. Poor Monty, such a worry, hope he perks up soon. (And what a bugger about 1,000 calories a day less than your men.....:( )
5/2 isn't working then...you might as well be on an ordinary diet perhaps just a bit less every day...I almost went back to WW tonight but couldn't be bothered in the end.
Your quick shot of King's College works a treat......so misty & romantic!
Poor Monty ...a worrying time for you all....horrid to have him in pain...let him sit on any sofa he wants!
Stunning shot, fav. Poor Monty, wonder how he injured himself in the first place. I am on a diet, first day today! Weightwatchers with a stocked freezer full of delectable ready meals (managed to stop myself finishing off the children's home made toad in the hole). I would do your 2/5 diet but know full well the Waggon wheels would be rolling on my lax days. I could make up 2 fast days in 5 no problem!!
I love the photo; I sympathize a lot about Monty, but most of all, I empathize about struggling with weight. The only thing that's finally working for me is adding 20 minutes on the treadmill almost every day to the eating less (and not drinking much alcohol).
Lovely shot across the mist. On 5:2 diet you're only supposed to eat 500 cals which is why I'm going to leave it until nearer the summer. We need our cals to keep warm! Sorry to hear about poor Monty. I hope he will feel better soon and great that the piano is more valuable than you thought!
So sorry about Monty - I can imagine what it's like as I just hate it when Jinks is even a little bit poorly. Hope he's much better soon. Don't do too much diet, Judith. Atmospheric misty shot.
Love the angle you have got here plus the moody mistiness! Poor Monty - the vet must be able to help, surely? I'm like you on the 5+2 diet - eat sausage rolls and chocolate on the other days! Naughty me! Btw fav
Oh no, poor Monty. It's just awful when they re ill isn't it? I have been cuting out alcohol apart from when we are out at an actual 'event' and cutting down. Have lost 4.5lbs in two weeks, but still got a long long way to go. My Dad did the 5+2 and stopped losing weight after a while. He didn't have much to lose anyway, but calorie counted for a while and now he maintains it with 5+2. He says that he feels much better for doing it too.
lovely mistiness - poor Monty still not being right - someone who is finding the 5:2 works for them says that it helps her cut down the rest of the week as she doesn't feel like wasting all that effort - I've found it's cut down how much I'm eating the rest of the week too, because I'm not so hungry (although now, at the end of a fast day I'm tempted)
This is a lovely misty shot. Poor Monty - it does sound like he's in a bad way. Are they still waiting to see if it gets better by itself or is he going to need more treatment? I haven't even managed to start a diet yet and I really need to so I'm impressed that you've got this far, even if it doesn't seem to be working yet - I've got 2 50th birthday parties coming up and I've promised myself I'll start after that .....
Would have loved to see the atmospheric river but this is also quite mystical and a fav for me. Always good to have a reason to get out early, right ;)? Poor, poor Monty, I'm sending some very tender hugs his way.

Are you doing the 5+2 fast?
Poor old Monty. Hope he's feeling better soon.
