Go reds

Fortunately Adam doesn't look at my 365 project or I'd be in trouble for this - I'm compromising here by going for a fuzzy shot (and his sister who does sometimes look will NOT tell him ;0)). I did get some nice action shots during this morning's game but the lighting was very challenging.
It was a day of two games in fact - one for the city and one for school at Bishop's Stortford. Very cold wind, getting stronger.
Three GT:
1. We did not get rained on despited some horrible weather as we travelled along the M11.
2. Some very polite pupils at Bishop's Stortford College who waited for me to put my boots on and then walked us to the hockey pitch which we would never have found.
3. Flood plains - they seem to have done something (or maybe it just happens) so that Lamma's Land has flooded - that's what it's there for though in 25+ years I've never seen them like this and hopefully it means that the houses in Granchester have been spared.
Nice top. Bet Adam would suit a quiff...

Different shot. Did the camera bag turn up, any good.

Great capture. My teenage daughter is the same way. She runs out of the room every time I get my camera out.

Very nice. The fuzziness is what makes it so real!

@padlock yes it did - really pleased with it - plenty of room, lightweight but feels very secure.

You are a star standing on the lines at this time of the year |Judith...thank goodness none of mine where any good at sports, in fact hated any form of sport at all so not for me this torture!!"! Must be different if you have a child playing though I do see...Adam looks very like the little I have seen of Nigel! My sister lived in Bishop Stortford about 25 years ago.

Great capture, Judith. I love the DOF in it.

cool shot - I have equal problems getting shots of my daughter too

Love the expression. I hope Adam appreciates what a stellar mother he has...above and beyond I think

Nice focus. What a great supporter you are. I'm glad we're missing all that bad weather, sorry to tell you that it's hot and sunny here.

My kids don't look at 365 either, but also disappear when they see a camera. Graham has started to look at my project. I think he thinks that it is nice for him to appear to be 'taking an interest' in my hobby. But really it just means I can't moan about him as much as I sometimes want to!

You heard your mom, Rachel...you will not tell Adam. :)
Marvelous shot of the athletes, Judith. I think you deserve a few photos considering all the time you invest in the sport! :) I remember the days of tennis with my girls...seems my life was spent in the car and at tennis courts. But I loved it all.
I think it's high time everyone on the planet had a long spell of decent weather. I know you've had more than enough rain. We've had more than enough cold.

Great shot, thoughtful depth of field!

Nice candid, action shot Judith, through the blur I can see a very nice-looking lad! ;). I played hockey eons ago with composition balls and still have the dents in my shins to prove it! ( shin pads hadn't really come in then . . . )

Good focus on the hockey stick. Would like to see a pic of flooded Lammas Land.

Purples and reds. Almost colour clash judith. Posh sponsors too in the world of hockey :)

@phil_howcroft I noticed that - old shirts as no sponsors these days!

Good shot, nice focusing.

I'm sort of torn between really hoping L grows to find a sport she loves (JB wants it to be a team game, I'm less fussed by that as long as she finds something physical she's into) and feeling like if she does I'll always be on edge that she'll get a ball in her face or whatever. Need to get that under control otherwise I'll be That Parent, constantly running onto the pitch to block rough-looking tackles!
