I think it's probably ridiculous to be as excited about digging up potatoes as I was. I think next year I will dig up my ageing strawberry bed and fill it with potatoes. They are busy tray baking as I type.
Three GT:
1. A walk to Granchester Tea Gardens with Monty and Rachel before she heads off for the championships tomorrow. Very hot day predicted tomorrow so at least Monty got a decent walk today.
2. A beautiful Irish Setter we met on our walk - very sensible apparently.
3. My little reader's enthusiasm.
PS I rather like my tiny feet in the shot though they were a mistake!
They look,a good size Judith, Harry is impressed but not impressed that you aren't having them boiled with a nob of butter on top! He is a cook now you know....ha ha !potatoes are a great crop to grow at home....very satisfying to see those new spuds! Good luck to Rachel tomorrow!
Yes I've been digging my spuds for a about a month now and they are lovely. I dig them freshly every other day. You can't beat the taste of home grown!
Your own home-grown potatoes - well done, Judith! I'd love to grow some fruit and veg in my own garden some day but right now it's just a dream. Ah, Grandchester, how I miss that place and the wonderful walks we took there! Good luck to Rachel!!!
Oh and are you the little birdie who whispered my adress to JH? You two really made a wonderful surprise for me :).
They have been digging up potatoes at L's nursery recently - she periodically comes home grimy (well she always comes home grimy, but only occasionally with potato-mud) clutching a couple to cook. I am excited on her behalf!
@jannaellen she wasn't THAT easy to stalk - one has to get past Nigel - I had to prod!
