A bit of a quiet morning with Nigel away on business and Adam off at a friend's after a gig last night so I started painting Rachel's bedroom. She has specified colours - she's gone off 'euphorbia' - says it's like living in a pond. I rather like the pond effect but I'm going with her wish for boring blue. I have finished till tomorrow now as I've run out of paint - worked my way through 2.5 podcasts of Desert Island DIscs while covering 1.5 walls.
I love the bit of river between Milton and Waterbeach as Monty can potter along off lead (fishermen permitting) and I can stand around trying to catch things on film. I had only just got out of the car when I spotted this young man singing loudly amongst the berries. I was just lining up for a better shot when he took off. In fact I have a lovely 'in flight' shot but it's too blurred to post. And then I took a kingfisher on the opposite riverbank. I've had to crop way too much so it's only made Extras but I was proud enough to show it to a couple who were walking their golden retriever and made the mistake of asking me what I was photographing.
This is perfect - looks like the front piece of a really gorgeous bird calendar! Love the matching red berries. I think I would have showed that kingfisher shot to anyone - whether they asked or not ;).
You're making me feel very jealous that you're decorating but it'll be me soon...can't wait! Also jealous that you got to see a kingfisher. Beautiful little robin xx
