I met up with friends for a pre-Christmas night out and the venue is next door to Cambridge Chabad House. I noticed our neighbours had lit their menorah on Tuesday when Hanukkah started but I didn't feel it was entirely appropriate to photograph their private window when they were in with the lights on! Chabad House has a large menorah out on the street so I was very happy to find it still lit when I got to the pub. It is an interesting place which seems to cover teaching of Judaism in both traditional and liberal forms and has the only Mikvah (bath for ritual purification) in Cambridge.
This is lovely Judith....the lights from those beautifully simple lamps ....not sure what a menorah is so must Google that. I always admire the way the Jewish faith has its lovely family rituals.,,, it always seems a very comforting religion even though so much persecution in the last & to some extent the present too.
