Cambridge was no doubt as quiet as this in December 1914 - we we mothers of today are so lucky we only have to worry about our sons going out on the town on New Year's Eve! Today I got up early courtesy of the cat who likes to sit on the alarm clock and occasionally sets it. I will not complain about the parking ticket I got taking this (regular followers will know that I have often screeched to a halt along The Backs while doing the school run - apparently those parking bays cannot be used any more between 7 and 9.30am when they start charging - seems to be no good reason other than that they can give parking tickets) and instead I will count my many blessings.
We reach the end of 2014 in good health and with no disasters having afflicted us and we have been reminded recently, both personally and globally, that that is something we should never take for granted.
Thank you to everybody who has followed, commented and faved during 2014. Every bit of interaction is appreciated. Special thanks to @jewelsandbinoculars who made me stick to the 'no filler' challenge when I was wavering by the middle of January - ultimately I enjoyed the project much more because of it. Also thanks to my 'silent followers' who drop in and read my entries and are kind enough say nice things about them - you inspire me to keep going. Bring on 2015 - health, happiness and creativity to one and all!
wonderful Cambridge thru your eyes Judith.
2014 was good because we met and had such a lovely time, the Saint Regis is now one of my fav spot in Paris. May 2015 brings us fabulous photos opportunities!
Are you sure this one won?? A great shot but I did like the golden light in the other one. Happy New Year to you anyway. I will be trying hard again for a Dales meet up in 2015!
Very, very beautiful! You said it all so there is not much to add. I'm really behind but I'll try to catch up these days or as soon as I'm sleeping again (might be a few more months then). I'm also happy I saw the year through with no fillers for the first time and I'll continue on in some way - maybe not every day but I'll try my best. Wonderful to hear you'll be on board as well, otherwise it would not be the same. Have a great start into tomorrow and the next year (without any cat-induced early rising I hope)!
A lovely alleyway to see the sides of this classical structure on the right! The one on the left seems to have a European style to it! Happy New Year to you and your family!
I always enjoy finding little streets and alleys like this to photograph. They are always so interesting. Like that you can see the end of the street and what's there. Great capture. Very colorful.
