Ouch.... by judithg

Ouch....

The nice physio let me photograph his screen this morning. Top left is my shoulder with a needle inserted into the capsule. Top right there is dye and fluid making the capsule darker and bottom left the capsule has ruptured - I was doing a lot of squealing at the number two stage!! Then he went to work with some serious leverage on my shoulder which is starting to move a bit more, especially with extra help from my new pulley system which will be going to NY with me and I hope I don't need to explain it (it's for getting a good stretch in the joint)!
This made me flinch! Sounds bloomin' painful! I can just imagine the conversation about your pulley system at customs!

Looks so painful!

@jenniferruge The camera doesn't lie!! I noticed the report said, 'Reasonably well tolerated' - that was generous - I was having childbirth flashbacks!!!

Jo
Oh I do like it when the medical team let you take photos. I'm always doing it!

Fabulous photos of what sounds like torture. So glad you are getting more movement. Pain.
May 29th, 2012
Ouch indeed, that looks painful! Feel better soon!
A while ago, I asked my vet if I can take a picture of one of Luna's x-ray shots; she would let me do that, and I was so happy about it. I wonder if some people would call us photographers weird... lol

Sounds quite traumatic. I'm impressed you were in the mood for pictures but thanks for the graffic detail :0(
Hope you have a super time in NY and decent weather. It's been miserably hot around here lately. Too bad I can't go up for a little meet-up. Maybe next time...

Ouch! Hope the pulley system works and your shoulder gets better very soon!

Staff in hospitals have certainly changed and become more human these days. A few years ago you wouldn't have dared ask. Glad you were able to show us these shots but hope that it gets better soon and that you enjoy your break (forgive the pun)! well a rupture is a different way of saying break sort of

Very impressed with your recording - as if you would forget - of a very painful event in your personal history! Very cool 'x-ray' shots. Hope the stretch band helps to get some mobility back for you.
May 29th, 2012
WOW...ouch is right, hope your better soon!!!!
May 29th, 2012
Bless you heart (or shoulder to be more specific)... hope that you will get relief soon!

Any needles anywhere near my extremities would not be photoed I'm afraid !!! All new stuff to me here & modern medicine is a wonderful thing, I presume the ruptured capsule will mend in time with gentle stretching & manipulation but it has been a long job !! Do hope you are much improved when you go to NY on Saturday !!!
Has dog walking & camera work caused all this do you think ? Very interesting Xrays !!
May 29th, 2012
Ouch! But very cool that you have shots of your X-rays ;)
May 29th, 2012
ouch, that's a selfie with a difference
May 29th, 2012
Oh how painful, I had a frozen shoulder for two years and that was bad enough, this seams worse but keep up with the excersises! Great photos!
May 29th, 2012
Ooh ouchie!! I don't know if you'd be interested but this week's me every week selfie challenge is 'anonymous' and I'd say this more than qualifies! I hope this has eased your problem shoulder a bit xx

Ouch! hope it keeps getting better =)

Good for you, Judith, for taking the photo of something that's caused you so much pain - "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" I had a severe gash to my leg last fall - was cut through to the bone, but I asked the dr. if I could shoot photos of him cleaning up and dressing the wound. He said no one had ever asked him that before - guess he's never met a 365'er before!

Coolio shot not coolio it hurts :D

Judith, all the very best for a speedy recovery. I could hear the squealing when I was looking at number 2 stage!

Interesting shot, Well it's certainly different!

What we can learn through pictures. It often comes in handy when we discover a friend here has a similar problem. Do hope that your shoulder will improve and you can enjoy your trip.

nice series! hope that it's easing a bit now and doesn't give you too much jip when you go away
