Head Hanging Low by julie

Head Hanging Low

Most of my sunflowers are bending over with the faces to the ground. They look so sad. There's a few standing tall with the faces to the sun. I hope I will take after those ones and not these.
But they still have beauty even in such a sad state.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith...Hebrews 12:2
Makes me want to sing "why so downcast oh my soul, put your hope in God, put your hope in God oooohhhh" Great capture, especially since we often see the sunflower garden or sunflower house.

You could see it as a more joyous event if you think how the flower is giving its seed to the earth,so that new life will be able to begin!! It is bowing towards Mother Earth! Still, a beautiful picture!

Thanks! @Femke, That does make it more joyful and beautiful to understand they are dropping their seeds...I guess I didn't really think of that way. Thanks! @Jennifer that verse came to my mind also.

This is nice. Usually people shot the sunflower with its face up. This is a nice change. Nice details.

"A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to uproot...."

This verse came to mind as I looked at your picture. My first thought was that this sunflower has served it's purpouse. Then because I am teaching about plant reproduction and seeds, I thought, "OH! The seeds are growing inside and getting bigger and this is why the flower is dying! Think of all the seeds that will be produced to make more!"

Thanks Julie for the picture! You are doing such a great job on your project. I really enjoy following you!

Thanks so much Sarah! I enjoy your pictures also. Love what you are saying here about the seeds and that's one of my favorite passes of scripture.
