Creeping by julienne1

Creeping

Ordinary English Ivy climbing up a wall. A common sight - but those fascinating aerial rootlets that allow it to do this are quite remarkable. They look a bit like legs on a caterpillar, and cling to any surface with the help of adhesive nanoparticles which scientists are investigating in their research into new adhesives. Anyone who has had to try and remove well established ivy from buildings will know how successfully it clings!
Lovely close up.

Very neat, love the contract between the leaves and stem. :)

I think this is great. As you say, a closer look shows us interesting details that often go unnoticed. Like the colour combinations too.

Fascinating. Lots of ivy in my garden, but fortunately it is not climbing on walls.

Such nice detail that you found! As a close-up, it is not only "creeping" but also a bit "creepy" :)
