@bkbinthecity some farmers paint numbers on the sides of ewes and lambs to make it easy to match them up should they become separated, like perhaps when moving the herd to a different field. You can't see in this picture, but the mum has a big 28 on her other side.

@sgtpepper hi there! It's great that you know the area. I've been here about 20 years now. The Kings Head isn't really going strong now sadly, and only seems to be open intermittently.
