Ready for the next generation... by julienne1

Ready for the next generation...

It's now exactly two weeks after St George's Day (April 23) which is said to be the best day to pick dandelion blooms to make dandelion flower wine. They were particularly abundant this year with the warm weather we've had. There are still a few dandelions around but the sea of yellow in the fields and along road verges has subsided and been largely replaced with the white seed heads. I know they're a pain for gardeners, and I get fed up with pulling them up in my flower beds too, but I do enjoy them!
They look great in macro

Each little seed head is perfect. They looked lovely on the verges around us, and i think that is a good place for them.

Very cool shot. Didn't know that they make anything out of those, much less wine. Learn something new every day.
