Dodged the raindrops in Wells today. This is Vicars Close, a medieval cobbled street leading up to Wells Cathedral. It's famous for being the oldest continually occupied street in Europe, dating from the 1360s. The idea of the close was to keep the Cathedral Choir (the Vicars Choral) together in one place and away from the evil temptations of the city.
Great capture and love the POV. The lovely buildings are a FAV. Today I think it would take more than a distance to keep evil temptations at bay... sadly.
@christophercox - I think the repetition is wonderful and it's great that when you stand at the end furthest from the cathedral and look down it seems to make the cathedral look even bigger and grander
