Revisiting the shield bugs on a patch of thistles. I posted a picture in early August http://365project.org/julienne1/365/2015-08-08 when the thistles were still in flower. Now the plants are just a mass of wispy seeds but still covered in shield bugs.
@christophercox - it's worth looking close up at the little creatures, even the common ones, because most of the time we just take them for-granted and miss how interesting and colourful they often are
