Iberian Water Frog - Pelophylax perezi

There were hundreds of these delightful little frogs basking in the beautiful sunshine around the ponds at Ham Wall nature reserve this morning. As you walk past they jump into the water in quick succession making wonderful plopping noises.

@gijsje - well they were basking on every available stretch of mud around the pools until I disturbed them. It was really quite amusing to see them jump off into the water one after the other.
