England's brown and pleasant land? by julienne1

England's brown and pleasant land?

Where did all the green go? After temperatures over 30° and little or no rain for weeks our green countryside is burning up. And yes, I know that many places have far higher temperatures than ours at the moment but our wildlife and plant life is used to plentiful rain and just doesn't cope!
Lovely scene and capture

I agree with Jo, it still looks wonderful compared to what our country looked like. Nature has it's own rhythm, it will get green again ;-)

Just finished haymaking here and the grass is simply not really growing again. No doubt we will be moaning about floods later!!

Not green, but still a beautiful panorama.
The grass in our garden looks like hay; we need rain...

It seems only days ago we were flooding just about everywhere...it's not just the plants that suffer in the heat either, I wish insects liked cold!

Oh my! We are having a particularly "wet" season here in the South, USA! Hardly time to get the hay cut!

It looks more like Australia in summer rather than the UK. I hope you have some rain soon.

Nice capture. Wish I could send you some of the rain that we're getting over here.
