@glimpses Its hard to say really because they are all different. Round here there are hedgerows alongside most minor roads and most fields/meadows are separated from each other by some sort of hedgerow. Some of these are kept relatively tidy by trimming once every couple of years and others grow untidily in all directions. Anyway this pic shows one sort of hedgerow in spring https://365project.org/julienne1/365/2019-04-01 ...the blossom being blackthorn but in amongst this will be many other hedge plants like hawthorn, buckthorn, maple, spindle, hazel, elm, privet, beech and a host of others.
