Great White Egrets by julienne1

Great White Egrets

These are 5 of 13 Great White Egrets I saw this morning all gathered in one field. Until relatively recently these birds were extremely rare in the UK. In recent years they have been breeding successfully at Ham Wall RSPB nature reserve but in the last couple of years I have been seeing them more and more frequently on the wet moors below our village. But I've never before seen more than 3 at one time - and usually only single very shy birds. So it's amazing to see 13 in one field!
What a lovely scene and shot.
