Rhyne by julienne1

Rhyne

Another glorious day on the Somerset Levels. There are still plenty of dragonflies zooming around and other insects enjoying the wildflowers that continue to bloom. This drainage rhyne is one of hundreds that criss-cross the moorland draining excess water - not much need now because it's been dry for a while but come the winter rains they will act as valuable storage for water that would otherwise cause flooding to nearby villages and towns.
