No a lot of effort gone into today's image but a fare bit of emotion. Today would of been My Dads 92 birthday, but he died in 1997. Here he is as a fresh face young soldier ready to go off and fight for his country, he left a boy and came back a man.. Heard very little about these years.. but I am very proud of him and still miss him heaps.. he was a bit of a character..
He looks proud and keen! A wonderful photo for a never to be forgotten memory!

Our dads would have been same age. Mine was a tank driver. Never spoke about the war until he retired and then had flash backs. I worked at the library at the time and contacted an author doing research on tanks. He interviewed Dad and he has six accounts in a book called Rampant Dragons. I also got his medals for him when he turned 80. He had never claimed them. Started going to Anzac Parade three years before he died.
