Fighting Cocks...

As @dide and I were driving through Cornwall Park today we spotted these two Cock Pheasants putting on a bit of a show.. I got out with my camera expecting them to fly/walk off.. But they were too engrossed in the antics that they did not even notice us.. I think the Cock on the right was the younger of the two and was just telling the older boy that he was now boss so 'push off'....
One of the few birds common to both our countries that I actually recognise Julz! Always beautiful birds both in the field & on the plate!

Great shot - I love the way his tail feathers are up in the air. Yes I think that the dominant one is the one on the right. My images of the two of them weren't that flash, so you have done well. I did get a nice one of the 'boss' on his own.

Do you think so? I think Cock Pheasant on the right has more defined colour - more mature? The one on the left is bowing! Amazing confrontation caught by you!

I'm sure there's some moral to be drawn in the fact that you could get so close.

They do love to fight. We had one in our hen run last week and another one was pacing up and down outsideit trying to work out how to get in! This is a great shot of them fav
