I have finally started to get some Monarch caterpillars on my swan plants, and they are busy munching their way through the leaves.. I have had plenty on butterfly's laying eggs, the eggs stay for a while then disappear or some to make it to a small caterpillar and then disappear, I think they are getting culled by Asian Paper Wasps.. so lets hope this fellow turns into a beautiful butterfly...
Lovely closeup of the caterpillar. Good luck with getting cocoons and butterflies. I have had problems with shield beetles eating my caterpillars and/or lack of food this year.
Used to have many butterfly caterpillars in our garden, but never a Wanderer...they have such beautiful caterpillars and the butterflies are stunning. Great photo
@hrs I had to look up what a Wanderer was ... and I find out it is another name for Monarch never heard that before ... the things we learn on 365.. I will keep you posted with their progress... seen more butterfly's this morning laying and more caterpillars spotted.. so we may be winning
