Today is Good Friday so I always have to make a batch or two of Hot Cross Buns.. Buns and bread is something that I really enjoy making, I guess it rubbed off on to me from my Mum who made a loaf of bread every day ( pre bread makers) I still do it the traditional way and just love the very theraputic kneading..
This was batch #2 as my Daughter and family have gone away for Easter so I delivered some to her yesterday. When my daughter was pregnant she would have cravings for hot cross buns and get me to make some and deliver them to her work.. I refused to put the cross on thos ones though as it was not around Easter time..

Thank you all for your concern on the Cyclone that hit NZ yesterday.. Lucky it was not as bad as ecpected .. We only had it a bit wet but the East Coast of the North Island got hit worse with very strong winds and up to 200 mm of rain in some places, but not as much damage as was expected. Thank goodness for that..
@joansmor Have to have the mix fruit... I have been known to do several flavours in one batch ... fruit , no fruit, and chocolate chip .. but they others are just wrong...
