This weekend a small group from our Camera Club went away for the weekend to Rotorua to visit 'Wingspan' .. A bird of prey rescue and breeding centre. It was fantastic to see the passion of these people that clearly love the birds they have in their charge .. They also gave a demo with the New Zealand Falcon which is very endangered. They let the bird go and every time it would come back... and then we were allowed to put a glove on and let the Falcon sit on the glove and feed... We were all very brave but I really like the contrast of this girl with her very Punky hair colour ..
Great image. Thanks for posting it - as Carole said we didn't know of anywhere in NZ where there were birds of prey so this is good to know. @yorkshirekiwi I feel an overnight trip coming on!
