Always look behind you when doing sunrise shots.. I had an early rising again this morning and to start with though the sunrise was going to be a bit of a non event . .. but it turned out pretty good ( you may see it in the next day or two) when I turned around this the was sight of our nearby village and beyond to the NZ Steel Mill.. The steam is coloured from the sunrise ... I zoomed up on the photo and have picked out the Methodist Church on the hill centre right of the image so that will mark the main street of town... We are about 10k's from town ..

@happypat I have to correct you Pat it is steam not smoke ... the local workers of the Mill get very upset when they are accused of polluting the enviroment...
When my girls were small and they saw steam coming from chimneys like this they said it was a cloud making machine.
