Today Farmer George and I took a little road trip South to Ngatea where there is a very large Blueberry Orchard.. They open it up after their own pickers go through to the public to 'pick your own'... In a very short time we had picked nearly 5kg's.. All bagged up and in the freezer ready for muffin's, cakes, pies, smoothies... yummo...
FG found this nest with the berries in it.. not sure what bird they would hatch into...
Ha ha what a great find. Definitely a bluebird nest. It could be a currawong next though and a stash of food all ready for them when they hatch. currawongs love blueberries.
Love your baby blueberries! The perfect size to fit in this nest! I have been to Ngatea as when Ant & Jo were buying there 50/50 cows they bought some heifers from a farm there, it was the year eczema was really bad & we were worried all the way there in case they had eczema ...they were fine!
