Welcome Swallow and The Misty River Hills... by julzmaioro

Welcome Swallow and The Misty River Hills...

Early this morning we had some much needed rain (well drizzle) so I went outside with the camera to get some shots of the 'Misty River Hills'.. As I put the camera up to get the shot .. I could see a large bird coming towards me... click.. then I saw that it wasn't that large after all .. It was a Welcome Swallow .. and the a Hawke that I thought it was ...

Unfortunatly the rain did not come to anything.. things are very hot and dry ...
A fabulous shot of this lovely scenery and great timing. Unfortunately we have the same situation.

Not the swallows we know & love....a welcome swallow must be a different type of swallow. I can see your cows there too....lovely scene!

@julzmaioro Ours aren’t as colourful but have the forked tail & dart & swoop about the same as yours, they usually arrive around end of April beginning of May & stay until September October time. Very distinctive birds! This one looks loads bigger than ours!
