Seven Sisters...

Just back home from a fantastic ... though very long day ... Every two years 'The Sculpture of the Gulf' is held on Waiheke Island .. Waiheke is a 35 minute ferry ride from Auckland City CBD..

This piece was made by James Wright and he was on site to tell us all about it .. briefly ... Seven Sisters are the seven points of a fallen star representing the Pleiades, a cluster of stars situated in the constellation of Taurus..

It is made from Corten Steel and stainless steel .. and measures 3500 x4500x 4500... It was helicoptered into place... it has been sold so will have to be helicoptered out again to it final home..
