We have a tree with those awful chinese chestnuts in our garden. They might look funny, but they hurt a lot if you touch the thorns. Also, they fall down in Autumn but some of the thorns are still there the next summer (in summer we often have a hammock at this place, and it REALLY hurts getting one in your finger or foot if you are stepping etc. there)
@rotherz67 Yes, they're called "chinese chestnuts", why do they even grow in Germany? :T And yeah, my friend stepped on one of them while barefoot this summer, ouch :(
