Well, he's not a turkey, he's actually a carved loon napkin ring, but I thought it fit the day. If I was a bird, I'd worry today...And loons have their own reasons to worry, being that their numbers are declining. When I first moved to New Hampshire back in the late 70's you heard and saw loons everywhere. Now I've been back from Texas for almost 12 years and I have yet to hear or see a loon in my part of New Hampshire. Whereas before they would have been nesting and living in the ponds and lakes of this area. That's so sad, no wonder Mr Loon is looking so worried.
@richwho I lived in Hampton Beach for a winter and now am in Rochester. My daughter thinks she might want to become a tattoo artist. Or last I heard that was what she was thinking about...
@justkariherself - it's a fun career but takes loads pf patience and creativity... but mainly just loads of patience because people typically pick stuff from the flash racks or print something from the internet, taking the creativity out of it (hence my quitting that art form!). Tell her it's actually really easy to get into if she keeps up her drawing skills to the point where she could produce an image on request (or at least a good prototype). Some places are willing to take on an apprentice if they come in with some promising artwork. It can be difficult training but worth it in the long run if that's what she's after. (and the money is great if you're in a busy shop!)
and KariLyn thank you for your support, and Im so glad you are still here to make a comment.. xoxoxo
@nikkers I'm a little bit of a loon myself, what's that saying? Great birds flock together, ha ha. Thanks for your comment, and your welcome. It's a great idea. xoxoxo :)
