Substance Behind the Holes by jyokota

Substance Behind the Holes

After a lovely evening at a nice restaurant in the city, our daughter stepped behind this statue made of bolts. In doing so, she gave substance to a sculpture you could otherwise see through. Fun.

My daughter did some quick detective work, and found the following information on the sculptor on the web at "This is Colossal.com" (can't include the link here.)

"Sculptor Manuel Martí Moreno lives and works in Valencia, Spain and forms these wonderful figurative pieces out of iron nuts. Via email Moreno says that he is most interested in showing the passage of time, the transience of life, and our collective awareness of our own mortality, seemingly evidenced by the spectre of decay at the edges of his works. You can see more images including installation shots on his blog... "
This is gorgeous! I love the way your daughter has made the sculpture come alive. Instant Fav, just add daughter...

Fav! Her position behind the scupture is slightly haunting and endearing at the same time. Love how her position is identical to that of the bolted man.

Fun shot! I agree that your daughter's position gives her an apparition quality that is very mysterious.
