I thought about posting a photo of the international illustration jury work I'm involved in again, but since I posted the one from Italy, I decided it was too similar to the one in Korea in terms of showing a sea of tables and piles of illustrations. So I decided to post these wooden children, playfully placed along the wall here in the "Gangnam" section of Seoul. I selected this photo of the series I took because it shows some children clearly in focus, largely represented and "in your face," while others are much farther in the background, blurry, and impossible to get a see clearly. In a sense, this installation reminds me of the jury work at hand in that what is in front of us we can see clearly, and what remains at a distance requires more effort to recall clearly. In turn, this also echoes our understanding of children around the world, as well.
@taffy --thanks! Whirlwind travel means lots of photo opportunities, but no time to download and upload and write! Will be posting a lot and catching up this week.
