The Cathedral at Wawel Castle

Nearly a century old, the cathedral has served as the site for coronation of Polish monarchy. Pope John Paul II was ordained to the priesthood here. The gothic structure has numerous towers!
A lot of architecture there,

It's a wonderful capture of the varied architectural elements that form the cathedral. I wonder if it's because it was built across so many different eras?

@taffy -- that would be my guess, too. @joansmor -- you're right! And that's what caught my eye. The castle itself was impressive for its scale but interestingly didn't turn out to be particularly photogenic.

This brought back happy memories - I have a very similar shot from a surprise holiday there which my daughter took me on to celebrate a significant birthday.
