Designing the Overlay by jyokota

Designing the Overlay

1. Warn Super Jan in advance of your dream and vision so she can gather materials for you to choose from.
2. Give Super Jan your "pattern" from which you came up with the idea.
3. Super Jan creates a muslin pattern and tweaks it till it fits your body well, and matches the lines of the dress that goes under the overlay.
4. Super Jan supervises while you "design" the ribbon layout, followed by drizzling the various threads and yarns.
End of Sewing, Day One. (iPhone photography)
I will be intrigued to see the final result. Sadly, sewing and I don't go together. So this looks impossibly complex and non-doable.

Yikes, that looks very tricky. I failed sewing every year I had to do it at school.

That looks seriously complex, intrigued to see the finished result. I love to cross stitch as it is structured and organised. Really admire people that can create pieces like this.

oh I look forward to it too - like @mcsiegle @golftragic Mary and Marnie I am a sewing failure - I do blame it on Cranky Cronk my primamry school sewing teacher who refused to let me or teach me how sew left handed
