After the sewing is finished, you soak the whole piece in water and the plastic becomes gel; you have to rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse -- and keep rinsing until it's all gone. Takes forever. But all that squeezing of the ribbons "scrunched" the threads adding even more texture. And I like how when it was ironed, the "tail" on the side twirled into a spiral curve. A nice surprise.
Can I say I made it when Super Jan was critical to the success of this project? She says I envisioned it, but clearly, she saw it to completion!
Super Jan even sewed on a black snap on the dress shoulders and a clear snap on the overlay so the neckline would stay lined up throughout the evening. She added a black stretchy piece across the back of the backless dress, too.
You are a multi-talented woman! A seamstress as well as a talented photographer! I was wondering if you needed to rinse this??? 🤔
I hope that you got many compliments from those at the event!
