The annual free opera is well attended, broadcast online, and people start in the afternoon and stay through the night. German tv personality Thomas Gottschalk was the host of the event, and he is flanked by the two lead singers. Kristine Opolais played the lead role in Manon Lescaut, and here she is shown on the giant screen outside, as well as after the opera with a young music student fan who waited until 1am to see her. The fans waited even longer but Jonas Kauffman never came out.
