Chicago Skyline Panorama

So Chicago recorded the coldest New Year's ever. According to the news, "The National Weather Service says it was the coldest New Year’s Day on record in Chicago with a high of 1 degree (-17 Celsius).The bitter cold is continuing Tuesday, with wind chills forecast between - 35 F (-37 C) and - 20F (-39 C) in the Chicago area." But would that keep photographers inside? Nope. Especially when we had a driver (aka Bill) to take us to the lakeside and wait while Taffy and I took a round of photos for a couple of panoramas. 15 for this one.

PS It is so beautifully sharp in LR but uploading to 365 makes it softer . . .

Oh, and here's a one-shot iPhone panorama: https://365project.org/jyokota/challenges-and/2018-01-02
Beautiful scene - fav!

What a beautiful image Junko. Those people on the edge of the frame make it quite perfect.

A wonderful view of one of my favourite places.

Well captured and stitched. Isn't LR an amazing tool to be able to draw on!! I like the lighting quite a bit. Mine is very similar so I think I'll post something totally different -- if I post it eventually, I'll link back and let you know.

@taffy --but you sent me two quite different ones -- the black and white, and the pinkish one . . . how about those?

Fabulous composition, scale

This looks amazing, I especially like how you got the light and the violet sky left and the blue part of it on the right. Also, I guess it's warmer than in Munich.

Yep, this one is much sharper and has more visual appeal.

Beautiful pano! The light and tones are lovely. Sometimes uploading a big, dense, data-rich shot softens it up in 365. Fav.

@summerfield -- did you say, Niagara? Ready. :)

@jyokota - should be while the falls and river are frozen!

@summerfield @taffy -- not this year, but can we plan a trip to see frozen Niagara next winter???
posted January 9th, 2018
@jyokota - sure!

@jyokota @summerfield I'd been thinking about how amazing it would be to see them in person. Our company has a project in Buffalo that I used to be involved in. Wishing I still were to be able to have an excuse to visit!
