Ancient Skyscraper ? by jyokota

Ancient Skyscraper ?

Craning my neck backward, it felt like it does when I take photos of urban skyscrapers.

The never-ending photowalk with @domenicododaro
Nice POV. You managed not to make it leaning on one side. Or you were able to correct it afterwards! I'm quite jealous of your day with Domenico. I must confess...

I have to be careful I don't fall over backwards!! Great image!! It was a wonderful photowalk with so many photo opportunities!! I would have been exhausted!! LOL!!

@caterina -- I did crop out the very leaning building on the left side. I did a little perspective correction on this but once I cut out the left side it didn't need much for the perspective I was trying to get. Can you believe that my photowalk with Domenico was only a few hours? We met around 1pm, went to the museum, had lunch, went for a walk, and then I returned to my hotel for a couple of hours before joining Domenico and his wife for dinner. You are much closer to Rome than I am -- you don't need to be jealous, take a trip with your husband to Rome!

@bkbinthecity @pamknowler -- you two are quick! I was writing to Caterina and your messages came in while I was typing! Pam, I'll stand behind you and prop you up while you lean backwards!

@jyokota Yes Junko, we go to Rome often because we love it very much. There are so many things to be seen old and new. But I have never met Domenico. I must correct this!

@caterina -- meeting @DomenicoDodaro is THE reason to go to Rome!

Nice POV.

Lovely perspective and image

@jyokota @caterina Junko you are definitely too kind to me! And agree, We must correct this missing piece, Caterina!

@domenicododaro @caterina I wil be in Bologna March 21 - 28, so that means I can be in Rome from March 29 -- or in the Dolomites ??? What do you think. Shall we put the dates on our calendars?

Neat perspective, leading line

@jyokota @caterina dates in calendar! As to the Dolomites, maybe March is still for snow, but let’s be open!

@jyokota P.S.: little house booked for you, just in case!

Izzy wizzy, makes me dizzy! I guess height in architecture has always been a symbol of power in a kingdom. What was it Solomon said? There is nothing new under the sun. The Greeks and Romans did it a long time before our modern skyscraping cities. Always striking though, isn't it?
April 15th, 2018
Great shot.

Such good perspective - they are so imposing - it really makes you want to know more about how they built these things.
April 15th, 2018
These ancient constructions are amazing, nicely shot
April 15th, 2018
@domenicododaro -- with a little house booked for me, I'm marking "Rome" in my calendar in ink (ha!). As for the Dolomites, I'm happy to make a trip there whenever your wife says is the good season to go there. For the first time in my life, I have an empty calendar beyond the next few months so my time is flexible.

@jyokota the first half of summer is the best period, ordinarily (though, the foolish weather we are having this year does not allow any clear provision). Usually, we try to spend a few days there the last week of July.
