Taken at the Grand Canyon with Taffy and Jane. Who would guess that from this image? When you wake up at 4:45am for sunrise and there's snow, wind, fog, and freezing temperatures so there's no way to see the canyon, you get trees in snow:
You clearly made the most of your situation and brought home some beautiful pictures - even if some of them were different to what you expected. I love the simplicity of the subject here, yet with complex structure too.
@byrdlip -- breakfast ??? at that hour?? Ha! I think we were lucky we had water. At least it was cucumber-flavored and sparkling. We did have granola bars eventually.
Best on white - that made me laugh 😀😎 I think you are right. The tree has mild scoliosis and no amount of attempted straightening will help! I nearly said “cool image” but with the snow, that would be a terrible inadvertent pun. I like it. And I want to climb it 😉
@jyokota I was always over at the campground and the walk was refreshing. The last time I did it, there was eight to ten inches of snow on the ground, so driving was out of the question.
As it stands, what a lovely photo! As it stands beside the invisible Grand Canyon, what a shame, but that's a vacation for you! You ran with it very well, and as the owner of a spine with scoliosis, I like to think of it as "advancing wabi-sabi" and not a distraction at all! Anyway, this looks to be more of "a list", and trees do that!
