Holding it all together by jyokota

Holding it all together

@Caterina 's husband tells me all those things that look like staples-- they are what hold these old building together.

I took Sam's @gigiflower suggestion for a black and white version and tried it: https://365project.org/jyokota/365/2019-04-09

Goodness me, it doesn't sound like it is a very safe building!

@jyokota I really do prefer the B&W version. The textures are more obvious to see (with my eye). I find the pink bricks are a distraction but not in the B&W photo. Good on you Junko - a sterling job :)

@gigiflower -- thanks for suggesting I try an alternate version. I LOVE feedback that helps me think differently. I have to admit that I choose the black and white for its focus on structure and the metal things that hold the building together (which is the point of this image) but my memory of the pink stone which is classified as "Verona Pink" from that region also appeals to me in this color. Different purpose, different choices. Thanks again!

@jyokota Always a pleasure :)

Nice photo. I think I like this one better because of the variation in the color of the stones.

I wonder if they put in when it was built or if they were added later to stabilise the building. I prefer the colour version, the tones are lovely :)

I like the subtle colors here better than the b and w

I love it in colour too - but here it is the main structure with its multicoloured bricks that talk to me - the staples are just a sideline.
