Accompanied by a live orchestra of classical Chinese instruments, this play dramatized the life of an empress who was married into royalty at age 14 and ascended to the throne as an empress through her clever ways and dedicated behaviors to the Emperor.
The entrance of Empress Wu was from the rear of the theatre and when we turned around we could see the dramatic entrance of the Empress and her attendants walking toward the stage in the dark.
The entrance from the back through the audience must have been just powerful. I seems to have symbolized her coming from nowhere and ascending to power. So posed and regal, lovely capture
@ludwigsdiana -- Thanks for reminding me, because you are right -- I am lucky to have such experiences. But right now, I feel hassled and harassed having gone through the ultra-stepped-up security in Beijing airport because of the big 70th anniversary festivities. They took out so many things to inspect from my suitcase that it was a challenge repacking it all into my jigsaw-puzzle-packed suitcase. They inspected all my camera gear, and China is the only country I know that always inspects umbrellas. Today, they probed all through my suitcase and checked every inch of my body!
And wow, that was some journey through security for you this time!!!
