I have no clue why. And I also have no clue why the background turned out this color yellow and why there's a black band on top and on one side. I've done bajillion different edits to try to get rid of it. Sigh. Must learn Photoshop so I can swap backgrounds. Meanwhile, this is the background the camera took. Strange, as it was against the garden which is almost entirely green or brown.
What I DO know is that this green thing is evil and it scrapes up my legs when I have to enter the garden by going over the fence (I have very short legs) and scrapes my arms when I reach into the garden. I have bloody scars all over my limbs from these green things.
@jyokota we are all fine. Though our county has many cases, we are staying safe. My zip code is doing pretty well. I have no idea where the actual cases are happening. It looks like our positivity rate is going down, though.
@danette -- I stay home in the suburbs so I feel somewhat removed (although I know not entirely distant) from the worst of what's going on. Glad you and yours are well.
(Since I only drop by now and then, it's nice to catch up on conversations with you and Danette, whom I've also thought of a great deal recently @danette ) Sorry about those wicked metal stakes, but what a gorgeous setting for this magnificent photo of your dragonfly! It's a wonderful phot, and, even if you could swap the background, why would you? The coloration is marvelous!
Have you not got some duct tape ( like sellotape but the tough cloth based stuff) and wrap it around the top of the rough edges of the green posts.
It might still bruise you if you hit them, but it should stop the cuts.
And a very nice image too.
@markp -- DUCT TAPE! What a brilliant idea. I will go look in the "tape drawer" but likely I will find some because my husband used to even travel with a flat package of duct tape for emergencies. I scraped myself again tonight -- and I am so paranoid because my tetanus shot is not up to date so I have been dousing all my wounds with antiseptic spray. And because I scar easily I have two inch scars all over my legs and arms! Thanks for the brilliant idea.
FYI...another author illustrator I met was Ruth Heller...nice books and a sweet lady!
